About Life in Shenyang

Shenyang Ligong University is located in the bank of Hun River of Hun Nan high and new technology industrial development zone of Shenyang city, with beautiful environment and moderate traffic and cheap public transportation systems. Public Transportation

The public transportation systems around Shenyang Ligong University are very convenient. The No. 105 bus, No. 152 bus and No. 276 bus will take you straight to the center of the city, Shenyang railway station and Shenyang Bei railway station. If you want to travel underground and experience the modern metro, you can choose the “combo”--No. 152 bus to the metro line 2.

Travel

Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning province--and the 4th big city of China--has railways that extend in all directions. No matter where you want to go--Beijing to experience the stately capital city of China or Gulangyu Island of Xiamen city to feel the sea breeze--you all can find a fast non-stop train to get there. The No. 152 bus can take you to Shenyang railway station and the No. 105 bus can take you to Shenyang Bei railway station.

Shopping

Never consider that there is nothing but flowers and trees around our university. In a modern city, to have markets around the universities is essential. Yifeng Times Square and Xinglong Outlets will provide everything you need including the accessories and even household appliances. Here, the types of the commodity is as varied as your imagination. The two markets are only 10 to 15 minutes ride from Shenyang Ligong University, which can save a lot of time amidst your daily schedule.

Downtown Shenyang

It’s not difficult for you to take a walk around the central business district of the city, as Center Street and the Tai Yuen Street are ideal for relaxation, entertainment and diet, which will make your life in Shenyang more colorful. The city blooms at the edges and is full of excitement. You can best understand it by taking a tour bus ride of the city on a double-decker bus. Western stores like Walmart and Carrefour sell department store goods, while fast food and Korean BBQ are frequent stops along the way.

From cafes, to hotpot, Manbao’s famous Wonton Soup, spicy mix, bacon pie and barbeque dishes, or western style food, as well as fun daily street food, convenient stores and fruit stands that will let your stomach have a different and exciting experience every day.

Looking for something western? For homesick hunger pains, there is the fast, international option of McDonalds (less than a short 1km walk from campus), or try Bacchus, a western style chic bar and grill with real western foods complete and popular jovial Karaoke. Students truly have a wealth of outside dining and entertainment options every day or evening. All you have to do is walk through the North Gate of Ligong campus!

Communication

What many overseas students care about most is how to communicate easily with their loved ones and family overseas. Here, we provide three ways for your communication with your family. You can buy an ID card (20 yuan for 20 minutes phone call) from teacher Yao in the office B109. Or you can contact your family in Skype by using the provided WiFi Internet access available in your dormitory. Of course, if you purchase a Chinese sim card (China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom), you can just add +007 before you dial your phone number and contact your parents quickly and easily from anywhere in the city via your mobile phone.
